Hathor Egyptian Goddess Cauldron Stein
Of all the Egyptian goddesses, Hathor is one of the most popular and powerful. She was goddess of many things: love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, and pleasure. She was the protector of women, though men also worshipped her. She had priests as well as priestesses in her temples.
The daughter of the sun god Ra and mother of Horus, she has many associations - warrior of the sun, sky goddess, creator of the earth and goddess of the hearth. She also had a role in providing food for the dead in the Underworld - the ultimate caretaker, of both life and death.
This symbol, sculpted and adorned in 24k gold, represents her - the sun and the horns, as cattle were often associated with fertility and life.
